Bridges can fill in a gap in your smile with a permanent restoration

If you feel embarrassed about gaps in your smile, a natural-looking dental bridge can successfully fill in those unsightly spaces and help restore your confidence. A longer lasting alternative to dentures, dental bridges are an effective way to replace one or more missing teeth. They consist of a false tooth, positioned between two crowns, which slot over the teeth either side of a gap. Bridges can also be held in place with dental implants.

CADCAM bridgework

With our high end scanner, we can take accurate high resolution photographs of your teeth. These can then be printed into 3D models which act as the template for our laboratories. At the laboratory, they will be able to precision mill your bridge in a highly durable ceramic. This is then returned to us for fitting. This digital process provides a highly accurate bridge which is both strong and beautiful.

If you are having a bridge supported by teeth on either side (known as abutment teeth), then we will be able to fit the bridge on the same day. However, if you are having your bridge supported by implants, you will need a period of time to wait for the implants to heal before having the bridge fitted.

How it works

• The abutment teeth are prepared by removing a layer of enamel to ensure there will be sufficient room for the crowns.
• Impressions are taken using our intra-oral camera and these are beamed to the milling machine.
• Your bridge is milled from a single block of ceramic.
• When ready, the bridge is checked and adjusted. We polish it off before fitting with strong dental cement.

Looking after your bridge

Good oral hygiene is essential to ensure the longevity of your bridge. It is especially important to clean under the false tooth, as well as brushing and flossing regularly.

If bridges are well looked after, and that includes keeping the surrounding teeth healthy so they can continue to provide a solid foundation, they should last for over ten years.
