Celebrating 20 years in Hitchin

In 2001 we moved our practice from 2 rooms above an estate agents shop in Stopsley, Luton, to its current location in Hitchin.

We wanted to create a practice that offered the best that modern dentistry could offer while creating a comfortable environment for our patients.

We put tv’s on the ceilings above the dental chairs so that you could watch your favourite DVD whilst having your treatment done. We introduced intra-oral cameras so that we could take pictures in your mouth to help us explain what was going on and a scanning x-ray machine so that we could look into the bones of your jaws in order to pick-up any suspicious lesions at an early stage. The practice was truly focused on prevention, with our full-time Dental Hygienist Eileen Vallely, providing expert patient care. All of this was a first for Hitchin.

In 2004 we took our vision further as we were joined by internationally renowned Implantologist, Lloyd Searson, making dental implants available to our patients, who now no longer had to travel to London.

2008 brought the remodelling of the practice with the addition of another treatment room and we were joined by specialists in Endodontics(root canal treatment), Periodontics(gum disease) Orthodontics(braces).

We were now able to offer all specialities without having to leave the building. We also introduced Digital x-ray imaging which greatly reduces exposure to radiation for patients and staff.

2015 saw the introduction of digital scanning with our Cerec System. In most cases this means that we do not have to take impressions when making tooth coloured crowns, veneers and fillings, these can be milled within the hour avoiding the need for multiple appointments.

What next?

To celebrate 20 years we are again investing in YOUR Dental Practice.

Many of you have been to see us over the last few months and have experienced the changes we have made on the first floor in order to make the practice safe for patients during current times.

Between 10 July 2021 and the end of August 2021 we will be re-modelling the practice and making the changes more permanent in order to increase patient comfort (please watch the short video)

• New reception and waiting area
• Workspace for waiting patients – if you are working from home and need a spot where you can use your laptop between your appointments, we will be creating this for you
• 2 new surgeries for our visiting specialists
• Additional sterilising area with the latest equipment
• New patient washroom with baby changing area
• The practice will become fully digital and paper-free

Reception Team

The reception team will be working remotely during this period. They will be available to make and change appointments and answer any queries you may have.

We have made arrangements to see any emergencies at our sister practice, Orthoclinique, in Bancroft, Hitchin.
