Our aim is to provide you, and all our patients, with outstanding professional care, so we are continuously growing and changing to ensure you receive the best possible service. To that end, we have some important changes to share with you.

Staffing changes

After having cared for patients at the practice for 25 years, first in Stopsley and then in Hitchin, Dr Rajan Bhatiani has decided to retire from clinical dentistry and will instead take on a managerial role in the practice to help guide the business through what we hope will be an exciting period of growth and improvement.

Over the past 25 years, we have built a team of highly qualified dental professionals so that we are able to offer a complete range of treatments at the practice by dental surgeons who are specialists in their fields.

We are soon to be joined by a Specialist Oral Surgeon who holds a locum consultant post at Peterborough Hospital. He has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of mouth cancer, as well as oral surgery procedures that may otherwise require treatment in hospital. He will also be able to offer facial aesthetic treatments such as dermal fillers. This will be a great addition to the wrinkle-reducing procedures currently offered by Dr Harmeet Grewal.

Facial Aesthetics & Oral Surgery

An inherent need to achieve the best for my patients has driven me in my quest to achieve invaluable experience in head and neck surgery with a special interest in facial aesthetics. I completed my BDS in 2004 from India, following which I moved to London to study PGDDS with a focus on Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and Oral Medicine, graduating in 2007. I was elected to the Membership of Faculty of Dental Surgery at RCS Edinburgh in 2012.

I have trained extensively in craniofacial distraction, trauma management, orthognathic surgery and head and neck skin surgery at various units including St Johhanspital, Salzburg, hospitals at Coventry, Peterborough and Southampton. More recently, I joined Peterborough in April 2014 where I now work as a Locum Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Non-surgical Facial aesthetics is current, pertinent and here to stay. It gives me immense pleasure to realise my patients’ expectations to the best of my ability and I am constantly striving towards this goal. I continue to train in new methods and materials used in wrinkle treatment and facial contouring from various international trainers on a regular basis.

New dental plan

We are delighted to announce that, starting in the New Year, we will be switching preferred dental plan providers from Denplan to Practice Plan. If you’re currently a member of Denplan, you won’t be required to switch immediately, but we would encourage you to do so, as Practice Plan offers additional insurance benefits:

• Insurance cover for trauma to implants
• Trauma cover should you damage your teeth due to an accident
• Emergency cover if you need to see a dentist worldwide
• Emergency cover during surgery hours if you are 15 miles or more away from the practice
• Emergency callout cover (after hours, weekends and bank holidays)
• Payment on diagnosis of oral cancer
• Redundancy protection for your monthly payments (up to £15 per month) for up to 12 months (compulsory redundancy to the plan holder only)
• There will be no joining fee with our new provider

Banish the wrinkles

Dr Grewal is pleased to offer wrinkle-reducing injections as a safe and virtually pain-free non-surgical wrinkle reduction technique.
